The television giant’s sports division is under fire by the New York Daily News and others for making the singer’s beating by boyfriend Chris Brown “among the factors” in its decision to drop Rihanna’s opening from Thursday Night Football.
According to the New York Daily News:
CBS Sports boss Sean McManus said the fact that Rihanna was once a victim of domestic abuse (she was beaten by her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown in 2009) was “among several factors but was not the overriding one” for not using her opening song in Week 1.
