Dr. Dre and Dr. Jimmy shockingly surprised prospective University of Southern California students with a video congratulating them on their acceptance to their dream school.
The music geniuses both shared a few words of encouragement with the lucky applicants.
“The Trojan family is excited to offer you a spot in the class of 2018.Dr. Dre first added in the video. Then later Iovine added, We think you’re going to do great here.”
Dre and Iovine were the founders of the USC Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Academy for Arts, Technology and the Business of Innovation. A department created last year with the help of a 70 million dollar donation to fund the program. It was built to help young creative minds think outside of the box to keep the arts and music industry striving. The music legends uses the slogan, “THE DEGREE IN IN DISRUPTION.”
USC President C. L. Max Nikias wrote in a statement on the program’s site.
“The vision and generosity of Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young will profoundly influence the way all of us perceive and experience artistic media,USC provides an extraordinarily rich academic, research and artistic environment. We are committed to encouraging our students to use their intellectual and creative resources to effect change in all segments of society. Our goal is to ensure that the Academy is the most collaborative educational program in the world.”
